Laboratory Control carries out Legionella tests from its foundation in 1992. Since then, we have become a reference laboratory for Legionella several Spanish companies which rely on our results.
We operate with the two most effective technologies for Legionella testing:
Analysis of Legionella Culture (According to ISO 11731 Standard)
In 2001 our Laboratory obtained the ENAC accreditation (Spanish National Accreditation Body) for the analysis of Legionella in water samples according to the ISO 11731 standard. Our company became one of the first Spanish laboratories to achieve this goal.
The Spanish Royal Decree 865/2003 which describes the hygienic-sanitary criteria to prevent and control legionellosis, requires the analysis of Legionella to be carried out according to ISO 11731 standard.
Legionella Pneumophila Quantitative and Qualitative PCR
In order to improve our time-to-result for Legionella Pneumophila testing dramatically, we have introduced molecular biology techniques such as “real-time PCR”.
This novel technique has been recognized as one of the most powerful and fastest in the area of molecular biology, including all phases of analysis (sample concentration, DNA extraction and real-time PCR).
With this technique, we can guarantee our result delivery in a maximum period of 24-48 hours since the sample collection.
