Water Analysis
Laboratory Control operates with a complete laboratory of chemical and microbiological analyses in waters that meets the analytical needs of our clients by covering the vast majority of the physical-chemical and bacteriological determinations demanded by the current legislation for the control of any types of water.
We strictly apply the requirements established in Royal Decree 3/2023, of 10 January, which establishes the sanitary criteria for the quality of water for human consumption. We also work in the field of the pharmaceutical and sanitary industry, analysing water for haemodialysis processes. With regard to swimming pool water, we carry out analyses in accordance with the requirements established by the various Autonomous Communities and state legislation.
We carry out water analysis in:
- Drinking water or potable water
- Swimming pool water
- Haemodialysis water
- Waste water
- Reclaimed water
Drinking Water
Analysis
Laboratory Control offers diverse types of analysis for different drinking waters:
Control Analysis
It provides the operator and the health authority with the necessary information on the organoleptic and microbiological quality of drinking water, as well as on the efficacy of the water purification treatment. We include:
- Control of basic parameters
- Parameters to be determined in DWTP output water or deposit.
Water tap analysis
The main purpose is to guarantee that the water provided by the water supply system is not deteriorated in the network of household connections. Testing of metals used in the installation is included.
Complete Analysis
It allows a broad valoration of the physical-chemical and microbiological features of water. It is used to learn about the state of waters from catchment areas of to verify if untreated water from a natural course is suitable for human consumption (well, spring, etc.).
Laboratory Control offers:
- ENAC accreditation (Spanish National Accreditation Body) for the next parameters according to Spanish Regulations (RD 140/2003 standard):
- pH
- Conductivity
- Turbidity
- Color
- Nitrites
- Ammonium
- Metals
- Volatile Organic Compounds
- ENAC accreditation (Spanish National Accreditation Body) for sample collection
- Our laboratory is authorized to introduce results in SINAC (National Water Consumption Information System)
- Collaborating Entity with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery, Food and Environment
- Consulting services on the parameters to be analyzed according to the analysis type
Reclaimed Waters
Analysis
The concept of waste water designates any type of water contaminated cby residual substances with origin in domestic or industrial settings, rainwater or seepage water. In order to guarantee a safe pouring of these waters, each Spanish Autonomous Community – as well as each municipality or hydrographic confederation – apply specific regulations which set the parameters to be analyzed and its limitations.
Laboratory Control offers:
- ENAC accreditation (Spanish National Accreditation Body) for required parameters.
- pH
- Conductivity
- Suspended Solids
- Oils and fats
- Biochemical Oxygen Demand or Ammonium
- Chemical Oxygen Demand
- Metals
- Mercury
- Anions
- ENAC accreditation (Spanish National Accreditation Body) for sample collection for 24h characterization and the obtention of discharge authorization and occasional samples.
- Collaborating Entity of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery, Food and Environment.
- Required legal report to apply for discharge authorization
- Advice on the parameters to be analyzed according to the type of residue
- Immediate telephone alerts of non-conformity cases
Reclaimed Water is defined as treated or purified waste water which has been subjected to an additional or complementary treatment process that allows the adequacy of its quality to its intended use.
Spanish regulation RD 1620/2007 standard establishes the basic conditions for water reuse and specifies the demanded quality of purified water according to its intended use. This Spanish Royal Decree establishes that the concession holder must bear the costs to adequate the reuse of water to the existing quality requirements.
The abovementioned Decree also regulates the different permitted uses of reclaimed waters and establishes the applicable parameters and limitations.
Laboratory Control offers:
- Advice on the parameters to be analyzed according to the use
- Sample collection service by specialised staff
Hemodialysis Water Testing
Control of Hemodialysis water testing according to UNE 111-301-90 standard and the recommendations of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (SEN).
- Endotoxins
- Aerobic viable microorganisms
- Complete physical-chemical analysis
Laboratory Control offers:
- Sample collection by specialised staff
- Provision of necessary material for sample collection
- Continuous follow-up of results and immediate alert of non-conformity cases
Pool Water
Analysis
From December 2013, Spanish Regulation RD 742/2013 standard came into effect, which established the technical-sanitary criteria for water and air quality in pools, and its scope in aerosolization pools / SPAS, therapeutic pools in health centres, swimming pools and water parks.
Spanish Regulation RD 742/2013 standard establishes the obligation of perform a monthly control of water and air of the installation.
On the other hand, the different autonomic or municipal regulations can also be applied.
Laboratory Control offers:
- Full assistance regarding the applicable regulations.
- Sample collection
- “In Situ” determinations of environmental parameters specified in Spanish Regulations RD 742/2013 standard
Provision of the necessary material for the collection and delivery of samples
